Labor Day
I had lunch with Dave and Don today. I was stressed - leaving for San Francisco is less than 7 days and I haven’t packed anything. We had lunch and I shared with them some of the things I was planning on packing. You know, the basics: oven mitts, a dozen or more candles, 3 boxes of books, 39 shirts…
“ARE YOU CRAZY?”
Only your real friends will scream at you in a crowded Chipotle restaurant.
Through a half hour of intense laughing and ridicule, they convinced me:
1) San Francisco has books.
2) San Francisco sells candles.
3) I don’t need to take everything I own.
Thank you Dave and Don.
Oh, then while I was giddy with endorphins, another warrior who I haven’t spoken with in a YEAR called me for the sole purpose of wishing me a rich blessing, a huge, gushing blessing about the man I have been and am becoming. I was in Target on my cell phone and getting teary-eyed. Thank you, Dennis.
What a day.
